Peek into the Death

As promised, i am back for sharing the journey experience for my 1st treacherous yet beautiful expedition in March 2023. Just like our habits, the mountains peaks also has a habit of acting like a magnet for the daringly mad and passionate people around the globe.

The Kedarkantha Peak 2nd April 2023

This is that moment standing on the peak and mind shouting very calmly that Anything is possible to achieve. I dare say even today, that in reality the mind and eyes were not able to capture and comprehend the enormity of the task at hand and the accomplishment that we as people had achieved by setting our feet in that place. Only our soul knows it, that it was a moment of cherishing the contentment of achieving and living a moment that will only go with our death and nothing can ever snatch it away. We had earned that moment by taking on the hardest path ever possible i.e., putting everything on the line in its conquest.

Easy to see and admire from afar, but incredibly hard to achieve. For that, you need few partners in crime, and i have had that one incredible guy with me, starting from this adventure onwards. He has become family for lifetime not by blood, but even more than that by taking care of each other in the harshest of climate conditions ready to take anyone's life anytime. And yet, allowing the daring ones to go through and letting them see the entire world with the most beautiful perception and view. This is what every trekker and mountaineer do it for and for their lifetime. Even death does not make us fear from doing it.

We always have had our doubts while on the journey. But when the fitness does not allow us after a certain point, then the undetterable belief comes to the fore, that it needs to be done, no matter what. The only option that our mind perceives and selects is only one. just keep moving on till its not done. The "Choicelessness" appears here in every sense as it just refuses to see any other option of delaying or turning back.

The Death is a very possible thing in this space because of multiple reasons. But i can say that at every step, you take a Peek into the Death and then keep moving ahead. The descent is always as dangerous as the ascent, and importanly much more because you have done the hard yards, conquered the peak, body loses that grit now, mind starts relaxing.

But going down is always the hard part. Because now from the same path, you just need to get back safely in one piece. Anyone who has done this type of thing, can relate to it. And in those 3 days, we were very very lucky to see all 4 seasons in just 3 days. The changing landscape and weather is the most beautiful and disturbing thing for a trekker and mountaineer.

Base Camp

These are some beautiful landscapes which we usually live in throughout these days. All because of magic of weather at higher altitudes. The luscious snow, the unforgiving sun, the knee-deep trails.

There needs to be a special mention of a 90° wall patch, that is non-negotiable to climb with all the gear which we needed to wear. It was so scary, that we did not even think about what would happen if something goes wrong, because there was untouched slope of 70° fall with possivle crevasses deep into the snow. We just climbed it anyways without any thought, because if not for that, our whole journey would not have been possible.

I hope you would have imagined this beautiful journey along with me. In whatever manner i can share, i want to share all of it with my original thoughts. There have been even more special journeys recently. And i would dearly want to share it with everyone in the coming blog posts.

I am glad i am starting to share it all with you. We will meet sooner than later for the upcoming adventures.
